Carrot / 2 small
Celery / 1 medium
Oil / 3 tbsp
Onion / 1 big
Minced meat 300 g
Tomatoes sauce 1 can and 1 can crushed tomatoes
Milk - around half a liter
Salt, ground black pepper, oregano, mace, 3 dried basil leaves
Garlic 2-3 cloves
Cheese - 150 g (you may put more if you like it really “cheesy”). Mozzarella or any yellow cheese.
Lasagna noodles, acquire such, that doesn't need pre-cooking
Grate the carrot, celery, and cheese
Chop the onion, braise it in some hot oil, add the carrot and celery. Braise it some more, then add the minced meat, two pinches of salt, ground black pepper, and basil leaves. Braise it a little till the meat starts to become lighter in color, then add the tomato sauces. Cook everything till they are almost done. This may take up to 30 minutes.
Boil the milk, or make it hot in the microwave. Throw 2 tbsp of flour in some hot oil and start adding slowly the hot milk. (If you put cold milk, or if you add it all at once you will end up with a lumpy gravy, which is kind of disgusting, so you would want to avoid it). Put two pinches of salt, one pinch of black pepper and mace in it. Now you have your bechamel sauce.
Put some thin slices of butter in your pan, “grouting” the whole pan is also not a bad idea. After you've done that, put 3 noodles in your pan, put the meat stuff on it about 1 cm high, then a layer of your bechamel sauce and scatter some cheese on it. On this follows again three lasagna leaves, then again the same process. You do that till your ingredients run out. Because I am personally not such a big fan of noodles, usually end up with three noodle layers, in such a way that I do not put another noodle on the top. I just sprinkle some cheese on it and place it in a preheated oven for 25 minutes. The oven should be preheated to 190-200 degrees Celsius. I use 200, but that may depend on your oven.
This ain't exactly diet stuff, but having one slice of this beauty won't in any way make you bulk up if otherwise, you take care of what you eat. Of course consuming 2 boxes of chips and a bottle of coke afterward won't exactly help you loose weight, but if you eat this after a heavy leg workout at noon, it will only make the rest of your day better.
